Church planting is a prophetic endeavor.

Acts 13:2 tells us that as the leaders in the Antioch church sought God, the Holy Spirit spoke to set aside Paul and Barnabas for the task ahead. This is a beautiful picture of how church planting begins with hearing from God. It's a prophetic moment. Every church planter must have a story of hearing from God. That is the foundation of their call. Without knowing that God has called, there will not be the requisite strength and grace to weather the difficulties of planting. What is your 13:2 moment? Is it forged in you like liquid steel? Think of all that Paul went through as he planted churches on his three tours. Where did he get the determination to keep going? It went back to that prayer meeting where he heard from God.
